HCA is currently offering for sale a reproduction from the original A.H. Heisey and Company Ipswich 1/4lb Candy Jar mold of a limited glass reproduction manufactured by Mosser Glass of Cambridge, Ohio in their production color known as “Green Opal”. These limited edition candy jars are marked with the following HCA/11/M/WTC.
HCA member William T. (Bill) Clifford shared with the HCA Board of Directors at their June 2011 meeting his renewed interest in supporting both the long term success of HCA and the Cochran Challenge effort. As long time member of HCA, Bill in the past (2004) worked with HCA to provide the full financial funding for a limited edition Lavender Ice Tiger in memory of his deceased parents Tim & Esther Clifford.
With his renewed interest, Bill once again thought a special limited edition reproduction item could help HCA and generate new collector community awareness. He proposed a limited reproduction piece from an original Heisey mold to be made in either red or green glass. The only stipulation that he requested was that the net proceeds from the project were to be deposited into the HCA Endowment Fund.
The Board approved the project concept and an effort was undertaken to identify possible items for reproduction and associated manufacturing expenses. These efforts concluded with an agreement for production in September 2011and final manufacturing approval by all parties.
